USA 15 November: Sanford, FL

Today I visited Millennium Middle School in Sanford, FL to participate in the Teach – In Program in Seminole County.

I spoke to several physical education classes about the joy that I get as a volunteer coordinator for the World Harmony Run in the state of Florida.

I told them that the founder of the WHR, Sri Chinmoy, had a dream: regardless of our differences, we all are a world family. United, with harmony in our hearts, we all could live in harmony for harmony begins with each of us. This is how Sri Chinmoy founded the WHR back in 1987.

I shared with the students my experiences bringing the WHR Torch to Mexico where the children were very happy and grateful to be given the opportunity to hold the Harmony Torch to hope and dream for a better world.

After the presentation, they watched the WHR video and we passed the torch to every student who put their own dreams for world harmony as they held the Torch.

I would like to thank Jennifer Macdonald for inviting me and also PE teachers, specially coach Ms. Gillis for having me to share the importance of harmony in our lives with students.

“In the new millennium, the aspiring hearts of world-harmony will become the dedicated hands of world-ecstasy.”

~ Sri Chinmoy, founder of the World Harmony Run ~
