USA 27 December: Honolulu

We started the morning with a very early appearance on NBC's Sunrise Morning Show arranged by Sunny-Aloha seen above holding the torch with Harashita.

Harashita (Asia Pacific Coordinator) and Salil (Executive Director) were interviewed by Tannya as part of the morning segment.

The whole Sunrise news team joins in to carry the torch.

Community Now reporter Sarah Yoro held the torch just before she went on the air.

Next we headed over to Honolulu City Hall where we met with Kaleve Iosefa, Executive Director of the Mayor's office of Culture and Arts. Kaleve's office is facilitating our event tomorrow.

Finally, we called in at Iolani School and met with Peter Greenhill and student members of the Iolani Peace Institute to plan an event for Jan 5.

Later in the evening we had a wonderful Peace Concert at the Unity Church of Honolulu and as part of the closing Salil Wilson presented the torch to the congregation and asked everyone to pass the Torch and make a wish or a prayer for peace.

The World Harmony Run proudly supports the International Year of Youth (IYY) and the International Year of Forests (IYF) proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly.

See the recent Youtube video on African experience which illustrates IYY slogan "Our Year Our Voice"  International Year of Youth - Zambia World Harmony. They surprisingly mention Presidents and UN Secretary-General in a unique way!
