Canada 23 May: Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean receives the Torch-Bearer Award

Today, May 23rd, we had the tremendous honour of presenting the World Harmony Run Torch-Bearer Award to the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Canada's 27th Governor General (2005-2010), and now currently serving as UNESCO's Special Envoy for Haiti and Chancellor of the University of Ottawa.

Pictured here receiving the World Harmony Run Torch-Bearer Award, the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean graciously shared her sentiments about the need for inspiring and cultivating harmony especially among the youth of today.

The Michaëlle Jean Foundation creates hope for our youth, those living in disadvantaged communities and in areas where little can be taken for granted. Through her vision, these young people can have an active role in Canada`s future. The foundation she has created encourages our youth to use arts and sports to transform lives and build more vibrant communities.

With her innumerable achievements in many diverse fields and with the enthusiasm and energy she pours into each endeavour, we are truly happy and honoured to have shared this time with The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean.

May the light that shines through her everyday activities, in her smiles and actions, continue to inspire us all to work for a better world.
