Canada 23 July: St. John's

We started off the day with a lovely walk out on the Flatrock spit.

Our "divine chauffeur" and tour guide, David Bell, contemplates the power of the mighty sea.

Meanwhile, Devaki aspires to bird-like oneness with the expansive sky.

Delicate, yet determined, little flowers grow even on the moonlike rocky cliffs.

Devaki says: "I wish I could bottle the fresh air!"

Brahmacharini and Devaki investigate the edibility of the berries. But alas! blueberry season is not yet upon us! These ones were inedible!

After Flatrock, it was off to City Hall where the WHR team was welcomed by the Mayor and City Councillors at their meeting.

The Newfoundland provincial flag flying high at City Hall.

The City Council meetings are televised.

Mayor Dennis O'Keefe and councillors listen attentively as Brahmacharini reads the WHR statement. Devaki holds the banner.

Team members Brahamcharini, Devaki, and Kathy emerge happily from the meeting.

Beautiful garden on the City Hall terrace. After that, a bit of sight-seeing in the colourful streets of downtown St. John's.

"Jellybean Row" houses line the streets of the downtown core.

A necessary stop for ice cream! Moo Moo's has the best ice cream in town!

A bit of lovely nature on the way home.

What a great day!
