With so many meetings and ceremonies arranged for today, the International Team was split, where one part of the team ran the Brno - Kyjov route, whilst the other half of the team did the route from Kyjov to Zlin.

Na dnešní den bylo naplánováno mnoho akcí, setkání a ceremonií, a tak byl mezinárodní tým rozdělen. Jedna část běžela trasu z Brna do Kyjova, zatímco druhá polovina týmu běžela trasu z Kyjova do Zlína.

Brno - Kyjov

The Team started from the town hall of Modrice where the mayor and a local female triathlete ran briefly with us. The Team had a further eight ceremonies along the 60km route so it was going to be a fun packed day.

Tým vystartoval od radnice v Modřicích, kde s námi krátce běžel pan starosta Ing. Jaromír Valenta a česká reprezentantka v triatlonu Simona Vykoukalová. Tým měl mít osm ceremonií na šedesátikilometrové trase, takže nás čekal den plný zábavy a radosti.

On the outskirts of Moutnice a gentleman on a bicycle informed us that the mayor was waiting for us with refreshments. And so as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the mayor standing under a tree in front of a long table of food and drinks. The generosity and kindness of the mayors were to be the abiding memory of the day. We ran out of the town with a young boy and girl and the boy was so small he needed to hold the torch in two hands. Everyone cheered and clapped him. Along the route people stood in the shade of their doorways cheering us on. One woman said, "It's too hot to run!" An elderly gentleman shouted out to one runner at the back of the group, "Don't wave, just run!"

Na začátku Moutnice nás muž na kole informoval, že na nás čeká pan starosta s občerstvením. A jak jsme doběhli, byli jsme vřele přivítáni panem starostou RNDr. Františkem Vymazalem, který na nás čekal pod stromem před dlouhým stolem s jídlem a pitím. Štědrost a laskavost starostů měly být nezapomenutelným zážitkem tohoto dne. Z města jsme vyběhli s malým chlapcem a holčičkou. Chlapeček byl tak malý, že musel držet pochodeň oběma rukama. Každý ho povzbuzoval a tleskal mu. Podél trasy stáli lidé ve stínu svých domovních dveří a povzbuzovali nás. Jedna paní říkala: „Je příliš vedro na běhání!“ Starší pán volal na běžce, který běžel poslední ze skupiny: „Nemávej, jen utíkej!“

The road to Klobouky, 13 km away was hilly with a few steep hills that were a challenge for the passing lorries, let alone for the runners. However, we were enthralled by the beauty of the countryside around us. The view for kilometres around was one of large fields of sunflowers and freshly cut bales of golden hay.

At Klobouky the mayor met us on the steps of the town hall. There he presented us with a large half litre porcelain mug and gave each runner a commemorative golden coin. Some very young children watched the whole proceedings from the steps, and they later all held the torch. We were invited into his office where he provided us with food and refreshments.

Cesta do Klobouků, které byly 13 km před námi, byla kopcovitá. Několik příkrých kopců bylo výzvou projíždějící nákladní auta, natož tak pro běžce. Byli jsme však okouzleni krásou přírody kolem nás. Na kilometry kolem dokola se rozkládala pole slunečnic a čerstvě posečené balíky zlatého sena.

V Kloboukách nás pan starosta Ing. Jindřich Koubek přivítal na schodech radnice. Obdaroval nás velikým půllitrovým porcelánovým hrnkem a předal každému běžci pamětní zlatou minci. Pár velmi malých dětí pozorovalo celé dění ze schodů a později si všechny podržely pochodeň. Byli jsme pozváni do starostovy kanceláře, kde jsme dostali občerstvení.

At Terezin we were welcomed by traditional folk music playing from the village's loudspeaker system. On the village green the mayor dressed in her running clothes greeted us. She was all smiles and so happy that the Run came through her village. She eagerly showed us through the village museum, and at the back of the museum (that doubled up as the mayor's office) on a long table was such a spread of food and drinks we were all so thankful for her generosity. Outside we met some of the local people and children where we passed the torch to them all. The mayor, a few of her colleagues and a few children ran the 2 km to the village of Cejc.

V obci Terezíně nás přivítala tradiční folklórní hudba, která hrála z ampliónů místního rozhlasu. Na návsi nás zdravila paní starostka Miroslava Vykydalová DiS v běžeckém oblečení. Byla samý úsměv a hodně šťastná, že World Harmony Run probíhá skrze její obec. Dychtivě nás provedla místním muzeem a na konci muzea (které bylo dvakrát větší než starostčina kancelář) na dlouhém stole, byl nesmírný výběr jídla a pití. Byli jsme velmi vděční za její štědrost.

Venku jsme se setkali s místními obyvateli a dětmi a všichni si podrželi pochodeň. Paní starostka, několik jejích kolegyň a kolegů a pár dětí s námi běželo do obce Čejč.

There the mayor of Terezin passed the torch to the mayor of Cejc. They were very good friends and work closely together. The children of Terezin enjoyed making new friends as well, as they enthusiastically guessed the country of each runner.
At the end of the ceremony everyone ran together with the children leading the way in front holding the torch.

Tam paní starostka Terezína předala pochodeň starostce Čejče paní JUDr. Martě Výmolové. Bylo vidět, že jsou velmi dobré přítelkyně a úzce spolu spolupracují. Děti z Terezína měli radost z nových přátel a nadšeně hádaly zemi, ze které každý běžec mezinárodního týmu pochází.
Na závěr setkání jsme všichni běželi společně a děti držely pochodeň a ukazovaly nám cestu.

We had further ceremonies in the villages of Hovorany, Sardice and Svatoborice-Mistrin. In Sardice the burly mayor was a lovely, smiling person and the sort of character that you could never forget. He has been mayor of the village for the past 16 years, and an ex-miner. He informed us about the history of the region and how in 1970 there was a terrible mining catastrophe where 34 men lost their lives. You could see the sadness in his eyes of the memories of lost comrades, but in his heart you could feel there was this fullness of hope and the joys of life. He said that he brought harmony into his village through having a group of singers in a local band that tour the region.

Další setkání byly ve vesnicích Hovorny, Šardice a Svatobořice-Mistřín. V Šardicích byl pan starosta, urostlý, milý, usmívající se člověk a charakter, který byste nikdy nemohli zapomenout – Miroslav Gregorovič. Je starostou už 16 let a je to bývalý havíř. Informoval nás o historii regionu a jak v roce 1970 došlo k hrozné havířské katastrofě, při které zemřelo 34 mužů. Mohli jste vidět ten smutek v jeho očích při vzpomínce na ztrátu svých přátel, ale v jeho srdci jste mohli cítit, že je tam plno naděje a radosti ze života. Říkal, že přinesl harmonii do své vesnice tím, že mají skupinu zpěváků a místní kapelu, která cestuje po regionu.

One of the young girl singers lovingly sang so sweetly for us that it moved us all. As with all our meetings today every mayor had abundantly provided us with with food and drinks. The mayor of Sardice Mr Gregorovic was no exception. There were fruits of every description, and even apples from his own garden. He had even provided us with a water sprinkler to cool down and offered us all ice cream!

Jedna z dívek nám zpívala tak láskyplně a sladce, že nás to všechny dojalo. Pan starosta Gregorovič nám nabídl všechno možné ovoce a dokonce jablka z jeho vlastní zahrady, vodní postřikovač, abychom se Zchladili, a to všechno zakončila vynikajicí zmrzlina!

Before we headed off to Zlin to meet up with the other team the final ceremony was at the town of Kyjov. At the outskirts of the town we ran together with Mark (15), Hannah (15), and Sandra (14) who were members of the local athletics club. Our entrance into the town's square and meeting with the mayor was filmed by local television and we later gave a brief interview.

Před tím, než jsme zamířili do Zlína, kde jsme plánovali setkání se zbytkem týmu na závěrečné ceremonii, nás čekalo město Kyjov. Od začátku města Kyjova jsme běželi s Markem (15), Hanou (15) a Sandrou (14), členy místního atletického klubu. Naše vběhnutí na náměstí a setkání se starostou natáčela místní televize a později jsme poskytli krátký rozhovor.

We ran through the town and to the outskirts where we finished our running for the day. It was then a dash to Zlin about 60 km away to join up with the other team for the final ceremony.

Běželi jsme městem až na jeho konec, kde jsme pro dnešek skončili. Pak jsme se rychle přesunuli do Zlína vzdáleného přes 60 km se připojili jsme se ke druhé části týmu na závěrečnou ceremonii.

Kyjov-Zlin

Our local runners started in Kyjov while we tried to catch up with them. They made a stop at Vlkos to meet the mayor, Mr. J.Kozak, and another stop at Vracov, where the mayor Mr. Smid was receiving them.
We arrived at Bzenec where they finished a ceremony with the mayor Mr. Pavel Cejka and continued the journey together. After a few hundred meters children from a kindergarten were waiting to give us self-made paper flowers and pictures.

Naši místní běžci začali dnešní trasu v Kyjově a my jsme se je snažili dohnat. Zastavili se v obci Vlkoš, kde se setkali se starostou panem Jaroslavem Kozákem a symbolicky s ním uběhli pár kroků. Další zastávka byla v obci Vracov, kde běžce přivítal pan starosta Ladislav Šmíd.
V Bzenci se konala ceremonie se starostou panem Pavlem Čejkou. Odtud pokračoval celý tým společně. Nedaleko obecního úřadu na nás u silnice čekaly děti z mateřské školky. Již zdálky na nás mávaly papírovými květinami a obrázky, které pro běžce nakreslily.

The kids put their fingerprints onto our picture of the harmony torch and we continued.

Děti se staly členy našeho Týmu harmonie a své členství zpečetily otiskem svého prstu na obrázek s naší pochodní harmonie. a my jsme pokračovali dál.

On the way to Veseli we met the Guiness Record holder and 8 time world champion of ''penny farthing'' (Bike with one big wheel and a small one behind it, and no gears) for one mile, Josef Zimovcak.

Po cestě do Veselí nad Moravou se k nám připojil držitel Guinessova rekordu a osminásobný násobný světový šampión v jízdě na historickém kole (kolo s jedním velkým kolem vpředu a malým vzadu, bez rychlostí) Josef Zimovčák.Ten nás doprovodil do tamního kláštera, kde nás uvítala paní Meziříčská společně s ostatními zástupci města.

Together with other historical cyclists they accompanied us to Uhersky Ostroh, where the vicemayor Ing. Hana Prileska joined them also on the historical bycicle.

Ve Veselí se k nám připojil celý tým cyklistů na historických kolech a doprovázel nás po cyklistické stezce až do Uherského Ostrohu. Po uvítání na zámeckém nádvoří se k nám na historickém kole přidala i zástupkyně starosty paní Ing. Hana Příleská.

When we arrived at Kunovice we were received by the vicemayor Mrs. Majickova. From this point on another four people joined us - the local woman's handball team, which are the best in the Czech Republic.

V obci Kunovice nás přivítala paní zástupkyně starosty paní Mgr. Ivana Majíčková. Odtud s námi pochodeň Harmonie nesly i další čtyři běžkyně - z týmu místních prvoligových házenkářek.

At Uherske Hradiste there was a big Ceremony in the town hall with a children camp, the vicemayor and local television stations.

V Uherském Hradišti byla na radnici velká ceremonie s místostarostou a tiskovou mluvčí Ing. Zemčíkovou. Přišly nás pozdravit i děti z příměstského tábora a nechyběla ani místní televize. Pan místostarosta nás přivítal slovy indického filozofa Gándhího: „Bůh nezná žádných hranic.“ a mluvil o tom, jak Světový běh harmonie překračuje hranice.

After singing our song and playing a game with the children we were invited to help ourselves to refreshments and all of us, even the children, signed the visitors book.

Zazpívali jsme naši píseň World Harmony Run, s dětmi jsme si popovídali o harmonii a z oken radnice zazněl obrovský pokřik – motto běhu: „Harmonie začíná u mě!“ Svoji návštěvu jsme zpečetili podpisy do pamětní knihy města.

The next generation of firemen became part of our team by running with us in Bilovice. Here with got to know the mayor Frantisek Janku.

Součástí našeho týmu se při běhu obcí Bílovice stala příští generace požárníků. Poznali jsme zde pana starostu Františka Janků.

We met other nice mayors, mayor Urbanova from Sarovy and the mayor of Bohuslavice.

Mile nás přivítali i na obecních úřadech v Šarovech (paní Urbanová) a v Bohuslavicích. Po trase se k nám připojovaly děti, aby alespoň chvíli popoběhly s pochodní a staly se tak součástí Běhu harmonie.

We had a nice experience when little football players lead us to a pub in Breznice where we met the mayor, Mr. Havlicek. Then we ran together with many good Czech runners to Zlin.

V obci Březnice nás podpořil tým mladých fotbalistů. Ti nás zavedli do tamního hostince, kde nás přivítal pan starosta František Havlíček. Odtud jsme společně s mnoha dobrými českými běžci zamířili již přímo do Zlína.

At the main square of Zlin (our final destination) we had a great reception on a big stage from a local radio station and very nice representative of the city.

Ve Zlíně (našem dnešním cílovém městě) nás čekalo velkolepé přijetí na náměstí Míru moderátory místního rádia ČAS a velmi milou zástupkyní města náměstkyní primátora paní Svatavou Nováčkovou.

When arrived, the Japaka Orchestra was playing the World Harmony Run anthem. A few moments before we were meant to leave the other team arrived just in time to introduce themselves. The moderators from the local radio did a great job and were very inspired by our ceremony. They did a lot of broadcasting about our Run.

Když jsme přiběhli, na pódiu hrála česko-slovenská skupina Japaka Orchestra (čti džapaka orchestra). Chvíli před odchodem z pódia dorazila druhá část našeho mezinárodního týmu, která dnes běžela trasu Brno-Kyjov. Přijeli právě včas, aby se mohli představit. Moderátoři rádia Čas, Ondřej Carda a Jana Hlaváčová, odvedli výbornou práci. Několikrát o běhu vysílali v rádiu. Byli jsme nadšení, jakým způsobem uváděli ceremonii.

Our day ended by enjoying the open air swimming pool of Zlin, wich has some very good slides!

Náš den jsem zakončili na Zeleném koupališti ve Zlíně, kde je spousta skvělých klouzaček!
