...our first steps of the day led us to the Baltic Sea...
an early bird - start in Saulkrasti...
...and a unusual welcome on the "sun stage" in the middle of the forest...
...we met new runners who joined us for almost the whole day...
...and some for a few km's...
...a short, but hearty reception in Adazi...
...two brothers...
...we reached Riga, the capital of Latvia!
..at the entrance of the city a large group of runners gathered and together we ran into the historic capital...
...some old friends from earlier years...
...a scenic running route...
...unusual shoes..
...near the city centre we reached a small park were for the last hours a program for children was in process. The kids played all kind of games and the arrival of the torch marked the highlight...
...the kids gave our runners little gifts in form of sweet necklaces...
...drawings for peace...

...the Run continued and we arrived at the national monument...
...we put down some flowers...
...and continued towards the main ceremony in Riga...
...a crowd was gathered at the old, picturesque square and the deputy mayor of Riga welcomed the runners...
...he honored four friends of the World Harmony Run for their achievements and service of the running world and the community...
...the deputy mayor took the lead and we ran a short distance through the historic part of Riga...

...the runners bus stayed with us the whole day...
...the final ceremony in Jurmala...
Cheerleaders, rappers and a children choir performed for us..
The chairman of the city council spoke kind words and welcomed the international team...
...two more torch-bearer awards for serving the community!
