Italy 22 April: Battipaglia - Caserta

Another sunny Sunday on the road of South Italy, and another nice meeting with local children. In this boy scouts camp in Salerno we had a chance to perform the whole program. As we are usually in a hurry we felt that today the children really enjoyed the time we were sharing together.

And actually they were themselves also really prepared! We were happy to discover how famous the peace flag can be in Italy, as it is visible in many windows and shops. In the past two days we have been offered this flag almost in every meeting.

This school nicely called "il castello dei sogni", the castle of the dreams, was really receptive to our messages. Indeed, neither we nor the parents could stop them running.

They also performed a famous song from Naples in the local dialect "tu vo' fa l'americano", with great talent, and quoted some of their own poetry.

Between two cappuccino, we could imagine hearing the voice of a Pavarotti in the middle of very typical landscape, composed of whites churches hiding in the hills.

This Sunday was also a very special day for the community of San Antonio Abate, where "la giornata della gerbera gialla", a flower event for peace and non violence took place to remember the victims of Mafia.

Adriana Musella the organiser of this event ( www.riferimenti.org ), the mayor and others city representatives were presents and invited us to share this meaningful moment with them. When we left we were covered with yellow flowers.

Valentin our Ukrainian runner enjoyed long endless straight roads to work on his running style for his four months participation to the run.

Caserta was our last stop of the day. Arriving at the Reggia di Caserta was like a dream. This summer palace of the king of Naples is an amazing royal residence absolutely comparable to others like Versailles or Sans-soucis.
